Affordable Therapy Cost in Dublin: Fees & Investment

When looking for mental health support, understanding the average therapy cost in Dublin is one of the most important practical steps. At Macanta Psychotherapy, I believe that high-quality, professional counselling should be both accessible and transparent, while maintaining a sustainable private practice.

To achieve this balance, Macanta Psychotherapy operates a structured, three-tier fee system based on your current employment and financial circumstances. This allows me to offer affordable therapy in Dublin without compromising on clinical quality.

Required Proof of Category

To maintain fairness and ensure that our low-cost counselling Dublin slots are preserved strictly for those in genuine financial transition, concession rates require the submission of supporting documentation prior to your first session.

Mid-Rate Concession (€50/session)

  • Part-Time Workers: A recent payslip (issued within the last 3 months) or an official employment statement demonstrating part-time status.

Supported Rate (€40/session)

  • Full-Time Students (3rd Level): A copy of a valid student ID card or a recent receipt of a State Training Allowance (from an Education Training Board, SOLAS, or equivalent body).

  • Unemployed / Unwaged: A recent statement or digital receipt (from the last 3 months) of your social welfare payments from the Department of Social Protection (DSP).

  • State Pensioners: Official documentation confirming receipt of a current state or private pension.

Concession Policy & Fair Use

  • Limited Availability: Concession slots (€40 and €50) are limited across the practice and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Geographic & Age Limits: Reduced rates are strictly available to full-time residents of the Republic of Ireland, aged 18 and over.

  • Fair Use Policy: To ensure these spaces can eventually be shared with others in financial need, a 12-session limit applies to all €40 and €50 appointments. After 12 sessions, your fee tier will be mutually reviewed during a session based on your ongoing therapeutic goals, progress, financial standing and current slot availability.
